Jamie-- I am currently reading "The Venus Forgery" by Michael Gruber (terrific) wherein the painter Valazquez is a major charactor and the painting that is the backgroud for this image is described in some detail-- the man on the left is a self-portrait of the artist. In many ways these are very compelling images but I do have reservations about the impermanence portfolio. Byron
